Choosing between a degree or certificate depends on whether you are looking to start your undergraduate education or train for a career.
Goal: To transfer to a four-year college
- Associate of Art (A.A.), Associate of Science (A.S.) and Associate of Fine Art (A.F.A.) are transfer degrees. Remember to plan your schedule with an advisor or transfer specialist if you plan to transfer.
Goal: To train for a career
- Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) are career preparation degrees (some may be transferable).
- Certificates are short-term work force preparation or advancement programs.
