High School Scholars

How Does It Work?

• Courses are taken during the regular school day on-campus or online.
• 3-4 credits per course (up to 8 credits can be taken per semester).
• $135 per course, plus textbook costs for in-county residents (Students residing in other counties, states, and countries will be subject to the out-of-county tuition and fees rate).

Why Participate in High School Scholars?

To get a jumpstart on college and a better idea about careers and what to study.

Studies have shown that participants were better prepared for college-level courses, as reflected in grade point average, completion of the associate degree, and time to completion of the degree than those who did not.

To get a college degree right after you graduate from high school.

Take courses during 10th, 11th and 12th grade and you may be close to completing an Associate’s Degree the summer after you graduate high school. Our student planner tool enables all enrolled students to perform a degree audit and keep track of courses that will count toward a specific major.

To earn credit toward a bachelor’s degree, and save money.

If you are planning to attend a public four-year institution in New Jersey, all of your credits from your completed Associate’s Degree will be transferred and you will enter college as a junior. You can save over $20,000 in tuition and fees.
