Campus Revitalization
Our infrastructure and facilities are already the envy of the community college sector in New Jersey. And thanks to a new ten-year master plan, the campus will become even more student-centric. Significant enhancements to existing facilities will include:
- Construction of a new dental clinic featuring three new general purpose classrooms and support space for the Dental Hygiene Program that is expected to open in 2022;
- Renovation of North Hall to make the building accessible for all students, staff and visitors; and
- Installation of new interactive technologies that significantly enhance teaching and learning in the classroom.
A Community Shaped by Innovation
Edison has been home to Middlesex College since its founding in 1964, when the land and buildings that composed the old Raritan Arsenal were converted for educational purposes.
It is fitting that the campus’ hometown is named after America’s greatest inventor, Thomas Alva Edison, who had his main laboratory in Menlo Park, where the phonograph was invented and the first successful incandescent lightbulb was created.
The town and its surrounding areas continue to be a vibrant hub for research and innovation, especially in the areas of healthcare, life sciences, logistics and autonomous technology, providing a wealth of career opportunities for our students.
